Questions are good things. They are there to get to know others and to find the common ground with each other, with the people we want to love. Well, I would think that the biggest thing I need to learn is to love myself. I think at least. I like lists, I make lists, mainly about anime and manga that I want to read and watch. And sometimes about American books too. My life does revolve around things that I consume. And I do not know if I am fine with that. I would like to fancy myself that I like philosophy, but in truth, I like the idea of philosophy. In the sense, philosophy means the love of knowledge, because we cannot know everything. So we need to start with things that we do not know, even though there are many famous figures in philosophy, I do not want to read from them. Because the biggest thing that I do not know if myself. And, as I am right now, I am more interested in filling the emptiness in me, if that makes sense. But I like questions. So, I went out and looked for que...

"Bungaku Shoujo" Memoire is a three-part OVA, that depicts the characters before the movie had taken place. This was needed since the movie adapted almost the middle section of the light novel series. It was made by Production I.G, has the average length of an anime episode.
Director: Tada Shunsuke. Producer: Kuroki Rui. Sound director: Nakajima Toshihiko.
It is not needed to watch to enjoy the movie, but it gives context to a lot of things that the movie didn't have time to get to. It does carry the same atmosphere as the other OVA does, more light-hearted but it has narrative value as well. It can come out as filler, however, I had never had any problems with filler content.
"Prelude of the Girl Who Gazes into Dreams — Amano Tooko is a high school student with the strange power of being able to experience books by savoring them. While visiting the workplace of her deceased father, she stumbles upon the rejected drafts for a writing contest. One of them has such an impact on her that she asks her acquaintance there to give it one more chance." anidb.net
Throughout every adaptation of the story, Amano Touko remains a mystery and this is the same in this OVA as well. I do believe that in the adaptations this comes as a strength of the stories since the animations are more dreamy than down to earth. Explaining why she eats or can eat stories would miss the point of her character.
"Requiem of the Sky Dancing Angel — Asakura Miu lives a sad and troublesome childhood due to her parents' constant fighting. Eventually, her father leaves the house and she ends up living with her bitter mother. Miu has been desperately trying to escape the harsh reality that surrounds her to the only safe place she knows: the worlds inside the books she loves. Ostracised by the kids at school, due to the imaginative mind that prompts her to frequently lie, she becomes a friend of Inoue Konoha, who rather than estranged, ends up fascinated by Miu's tales." anidb.net

If anything, the episode with Miu is one that needs to be seen. The best character in the movie is Asakura Miu and this episode explains what she is about and what is her back story.
"Rhapsody of the Love Maiden — Unable to express her feelings toward the boy she likes, Kotobuki Nanase inadvertently makes it look like she hates Inoue Konoha instead. Her best friend, Mori Kurara, tries to help as Nanase attempts to clear up the misunderstandings she has created." anibd.net

Debated, the last episode is the most harders to sit through, since as I previously mentioned in my anime review, I would say that she is not really that much of a character or love interest in the movie.
This is a good marketing strategy, since they were already adapting from the middle of a light novel series, so it was a wise decision not to cram everything into the movie and to try not to exclude characters. These three OVAs make a nice picture for use before the movie, and it is technically extra content to the fans, who no doubt already wanted to see their favorite get an animated adaption.
The art and animation are not on the same par with the movie, but that is understandable.
It is not mandatory to watch it to see the movie, but it does work as a companion piece to it.
